While it may be easy for us to say that an education is a must for every young man or woman, fate doesn’t grant that opportunity to everyone. Some are too poor to pay for the tuition fees, others have families to care for and no chance to take some time off and hit the books. This is where online learning education comes into play.

Online learning education can be regarded as an evolved form of the snail mail education system, where classes, assignments and tests would be mailed to the student’s home address. But now that most people have a computer that can connect to the World Wide Web, this form of learning has gone to the next level. All materials related to the course are now sent through e-mail, with the additional benefit of discussion forums and online conferences with both the educator and other students. Some universities offer additional classes that students can attend if they wish, where they can meet their professors and fellow classmates. Exams can be either performed on campus or online, with a specific time limit.

With the way our world has evolved since the time men learned to make a fire, having an education and a degree is now almost mandatory. While it is true that a piece of paper from a college does not always guarantee someone a job, not having that paper is ten times as bad. Those without an education are forced to find work in different fields, where muscle or beauty is rated higher than a degree. The main problem would be that the pay is not as good, and with the new discoveries in machinery human muscle isn’t always needed anymore. Beauty, however, will always be in demand.

The idea of online education is not new by any means, but it has gained the most popularity within the last decade. More and more people have signed up for online courses, gained their degrees and gone on to work in their chosen field without any trouble. But who is this system primarily for? It is of course true that even young students can benefit from online learning, but life on campus is a large part of a young adult’s social life.

We can say then that online learning education is for grown adults who are at home raising children, or already have one job and wish to learn more, or people with special circumstances that make it difficult for them to leave the house on a regular basis. To these and more, online education is the easiest and best way to gain what they want – more knowledge.

Degree granting colleges: Some beauty colleges are recognized and associated with the state board of education and provide a degree to their students. These colleges also offer students financial aid. With the many changes in our lives with the internet beauty colleges have also come up online. However these are not highly recommended as beauty programs require practical demonstration of the skill and talent involved and require personal interaction with the faculty for the student to truly gain from the experience. With so many different types of beauty colleges to choose from it may be confusing for the aspirant to make a decision. The best way to decide is to first consider one’s own priorities. Do you want to get a job at the earliest? Do you have less time to dedicate to your beauty program? Then a state license oriented beauty college may be a good option. For students looking for more in-depth knowledge and want to specialize in a certain section of the profession a job oriented beauty college is more favorable. A beauty college that provides a degree also recognizes the fact that you have successfully completed a course that is approved and recognized by the state. Thus the choice of beauty college and which is the best is a very subjective one and would vary from individual to individual. What is important to realize and acknowledge that a beauty college is a must if you want to working the beauty industry and become a success.

The courses in cosmetology must be taken at an accredited school. There is a lot of hands on work. A certain number of hours is required for the license. It is about 1,000 hours in many states./

Hello,
I would love to become a beauty therapist, however due to location and personal circumstances I am unable to travel to college to do a course. I have seen some courses online that are equivalent to an NVQ2, would I be employable as a beauty therapist at the end of the course or would it be a waste of time as it is not an NVQ?
I have plenty of people that I can practice on and could put together a “portfolio” of work – would that help? I don’t want to start the course if no-one in the beauty industry takes distance learning qualifications seriously.

I really want to become a beauty therapist, I work part time to full time hours and i cant quit to do a full time college course because i wont have any money for rent etc, i cant afford to do an evening course either as they cost in the range of £1500 to £2500 for a 30wek course. so i’ve started reserching therapys etc, rading a load of beuaty therapy books just to make myself familiar with things that i might learn. has anyone else had this problem and actually in the end managed to study for it? By the way, i’m 19 years old and dont want to take out a loan. do you have any suggestions on how i can get my dream?

im 22 and left school when i was 16, i was thinking of going back to college to do a beauty course, although i know i will have to pay and i am ok with that can i apply for anything to help me with payment or am i pass the age limit now and just got to pay on my own?

As long as you have your GED and as long as the school participates you can apply for aid from the federal government by completing the application at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/. Based on your age you’ll need to provide your parent’s information on the application unless you meet one of the other criteria to be considered an independent student (the questions to determine this are on the application).

No. All you need is your HSD. GED, and making sure it’s the right thing you want to do. Cos. School is fun, But it isn’t all play. It’s like school, You have tests, Classes, Grades, Etc. The cost can range from 10k to 13k, Maybe a little less or more depending on the area you are in. Your Salary can be a good amount, If your good at what you do(You don’t get paid in Cosmetology School.)

so my high school doesnt offer any electives in cosmetology and i really want to learn how to cut hair and style it and all sorts of other things. i dont want to wait until i graduate highschool. are there any places in or near san diego that would offer classes?

In the state of California, you can take community college classes at any local college for free during 9th – 12th grade. Its a great thing to take advantage of while you’re in high school (and while it’s still available).

I suggest you check out your local colleges and take class book things to have yourself a look see of any hair styling/cosmetic classes. The only thing you would have to pay is maybe materials fee…who knows.

I am wanting to learn hairstyling and cosmetology, but tuition fees in beauty schools are outrageous (around13 thousand $). I have found that a cheapest course would be an online one.

i think that the only way to learn how to do hair is practice. your gonna need lotsa hands on prac. !!! i wanna be a cosmatologist too (( im goin to a paul mitchell school ))hope this helpss…
